Close, but no points title this year

September 15, 2008- MT. JULIET, Tenn.- After a disappointing tie-breaker landed David in 2nd place in the BFL points race last season, he hoped to improve on that finish this year. The last two weekends, David fished the final regular season events of the BASS Weekend Series and the Wal-Mart BFL, Music City Division. He ended the year in 2nd and 3rd place on the two trails respectively.

"Winning the points on these trials is always on my radar. I've been fortunate to have won several points championships on team trials, but thus far it has eluded me individually. That being said, I am very proud to have fished consistently enough to be in the top three in both of these organizations. I hope to keep that consistency going next year and avoid the one "bomb" that prevented me from winning this year."

David had a 60th place finish at Old Hickory in the BFL that offset an otherwise consistent year with 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 28th place finishes. Likewise on the BASS side, it was a 21st place finish at Percy Priest in August that offset a 6th, two 8ths and a 9th place finish in the other events.
